QME means qualified medical evaluator
The DWC Medical Unit manages the QME system and publishes panel instructions. Identify the issue to be evaluated before assembling records.
AME means agreed medical evaluator
An AME is selected by agreement in the circumstances allowed by the process. Do not treat an AME report as interchangeable with a randomly generated QME panel.
Prepare a complete history
The useful record includes prior relevant injuries, symptoms, treatment, duties, restrictions, and documents sent to the evaluator. Accuracy is more valuable than performance.
File practice: save the notice, date served, and document that explains the next step. A reference page cannot decide an individual claim.
